Cross Country Skiing

Classic or skate, the Cariboo has no shortage of cross-country terrain. Local skiers are keen and organized and the x-country networks see regular grooming (mostly by volunteers – thanks guys!), organized activities for the little ones, and are all easily accessed.

Trail networks in Clinton (Big Bar), 100 Mile (99 Mile), Williams Lake (Bull Mountain), Quesnel (Hallis Lake), and Wells ensure that each community has it’s own x-country experience to offer. Lit trails make for epic night missions. Dog loops keep your K9 companions happy. Warming huts keep everyone cozy and stoked! Don’t miss the Wells Gourmet Ski in mid-February: dress up, ski, and eat amazing food – what could be better! X-country skiing is an amazing way to keep fit over the winter months – hold on to your fall fitness level and hop back on your bike in the spring in top form!

The Hallis Lake ski trails have been developed and are maintained by the Cariboo Ski Touring Club.  These extensive and well maintained multi-use trails are located in a snowbelt, east of Quesnel and offer high quality nordic skiing and include a 3.5 km lighted trail.
