BC Enduro Series – May Long Weekend in Williams Lake

Ted Morton, BC Enduro Series

When you think about why people ride bikes, it’s typically for the following; “to get away from it all”, for exercise, hang-out with my friends, explore new places, create adventure and push limits. Well if you’ve ever been to Williams Lake to ride, you know that friends become family quickly and that the trails there are ready to challenge you, you just have to ask.

We chose Williams Lake for two reasons: Locals, unfathomably fast trails!

Whether you’ve been to Williams Lake to ride or not, there’s no better way to explore and try some new trails, than as a part of the OSPREY BC Enduro Series, presented by SMITH. This mountain bike event is going to showcase the amazing networks of the Desous Mountain; on Saturday afternoon, this will be an Elite Enduro stage, some of the fastest and loosest riding of the whole series, if you like two-wheel drifts, barbecues, big descents and rowdy locals, this is the day for you.

Sundays feature is the iconic FOX Mountain Network, you’ve likely seen videos of local James Doerfling, hucking himself (that’s more Desous style), but the FOX Mountain area is where the fastest and flowiest trails, likely in all of BC, exist. Through in the odd jump, off camber, loose corner and it’s an absolute treat.

A very unique part of riding in Williams Lake is the local support. This event has support from Red Shred’s Bike and Board Shed, the Puddle Bike Club and the Cariboo Mountain Bike Consortium. What does this mean? The Red Carpet is being rolled out for us!!
